Short programs abroad are educational opportunities at international universities or other educational institutions designed for a shorter duration than a regular semester or academic year. Short programs offer students the opportunity to gain international experience without having to stay abroad for a long period of time. Short programs abroad are an excellent way for students to develop their intercultural skills, expand their network, and enrich their academic and professional perspectives. They can have different formats, such as:

  • Summer or Winter Schools: These courses are often offered by universities and usually include lectures, seminars, excursions and cultural activities.
  • Language courses: Many students use short programs to learn a foreign language or to improve their language skills.
  • Subject-specific programs: These programs focus on a specific subject area or topic and allow students to gain specialized knowledge and skills.
  • Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programs (BIP): These programs are part of the Erasmus+ initiative and combine online learning with short, intensive face-to-face periods abroad. They allow students to gain both digital learning and international experience in a compact format. BIPs are designed to increase the flexibility and accessibility of study abroad, especially for students who, for various reasons, cannot go abroad for extended periods of time.

Below you will find an overview of the various short programs. Please note that funding is not available for these programs. However, it may happen that students from partner universities receive discounts after a nomination by their home university. If this is the case, please contact the outgoing team at the International Office.

It is also important to always keep an eye on the application deadlines to ensure that you submit all necessary documents in time.

Furthermore, it is possible that you can have the achievements you make in these short programs credited to your studies at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. For more information on this topic, please contact your program coordinator directly or read the information on the website on "Academic Recognition".
