Contact between university and economy is manifold - after all, it is part of the self-image of the KU to connect education with preparation for the labor market. Hence, the KU boasts a high rate of lecturers from economy and administration; in many disciplines, internship are obligatory.

Oftentimes, students have the opportunity to write their thesis in cooperation with the practically experienced, or to participate in industrial research projects. Conversely, companies profit by a direct transfer of knowledge from the college classroom to real-life situations.

Selected companies have access to the carreer portal "WFI-Talente" (WFI talents), a databank storing the profiles of several hundred students of the Economic Sciences Faculty.
