    Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Altmeppen is a lecturer in the Journalism degree program at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU). His theoretical and empirical research focuses on responsibility communication (also on migration), media and digital ethics, publicity, media organizations, media management, and media economics.

    He was chairman of the German Communication Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, DGPuK) from 2010 to 2014, and dean of the KU’s Faculty of Languages and Literatures from 2011 to 2013. He has been the speaker of Schader Stiftung’s Kleiner Konvent advisory council since 2015, and co-director of the Center for Ethics of the Media and Digital Society (Zentrum für Ethik der Medien und der digitalen Gesellschaft), together with Prof. Dr. Alexander Filipović from the Munich School of Philosophy, since November 2016.

    Professor Altmeppen has been one of the two acting directors of the Center for Flight and Migration at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (together with Prof. Dr. Rita Rosner, Psychology) since January 2017. He has been editor-in-chief of Communication Socialis. Zeitschrift für Medienethik und Kommunikation in Kirche und Gesellschaft, a journal that specializes in media ethics and communication in the Church and society, since 2011.
