    Lea Gelardi studied sociology at KU Eichstätt-Infolstadt and finished her Bachelor's degree in international sociology (double degree) in 2016 with her thesis on the subject of "Refugees Welcome? Media presentation of the refugee crisis." From October 2016 to September 2018 she studied sociology and political science in the interdisciplinary master's programme at KU and wrote her Master's thesis about a Bavarian transit centre, an accommodation facility for asylum seekers, with a so-called low perspective of staying.

    Since October 2018 she has been working as a research associate at the Center for Flight and Migration in the field of education and coaching, where she has been working as a part-time research assistant since February 2017. As part of her work at the ZFM, she is responsible for the development and support of educational offers and projects in the area of flight and migration.
