    Profile

    Olivier Ndjimbi-Tshiende is a Catholic priest. Up to 2016, he spent 11 years working as a parish priest in various parts of Germany.

    He is a professor in Muanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo. After obtaining degrees in theology and philosophy in the Congo, he studied education, psychology, and criminology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, graduating with a Master of Arts in Education. He then completed a doctoral degree in philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy, followed by a habilitation in moral philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München on ‘African ethics. An ethical-ethnological analysis based on Max Scheler’s value philosophy’. He was appointed as a professor by the Congo’s ministry of culture in 2007.

    Starting in 1988 he built an orphanage in Boma, Congo, and since 2010 he has been building a medical center in Muanda. All of his academic work has focused on interculturality in academia and in life.

    Responsibilities

      • Identification of areas in need of research
      • Research on flight, migration, and integration with a focus on intercultural cooperation and community life, and value issues in the field of interculturality in society and politics
      • Collaborative projects with researchers from the disciplines of theology, philosophy, and religious education
