KU among top universities in Germany

According to the current ranking of the 2019 most popular universities in Germany published by the portal, the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) ranks place eight among the top ten best rated universities in Germany. Among Bavarian universities, it even takes first place! The online platform was opened in 2013 and offers students and alumni the possibility to rate their universities and write about their experiences. The highest possible ranking is five stars and students can also indicate whether they would recommend studies at their university.

Last year, more than 42,000 students have rated their university and studies using the platform Studycheck. The current ranking was compiled on the basis of all received votes submitted in 2018. Since the platform came into existence in 2013, the KU has received over 520 ratings and 93 per cent stated that they would recommend studying at the KU to their peers. The average rating for the KU were four out of five starts.

The results of the current Studycheck ranking are in line with other surveys which have regularly confirmed the KU’s excellent reputation among students and alumni for years. Last year, for example, more than 1,300 former KU students participated in the Bavarian graduate survey (Bayerische Absolventenstudie), for which the Bavarian State Institute for Higher Education Research and Planning interviewed more than 25,000 alumni. 75 per cent stated that they were very satisfied with the advice and support during their studies at the KU, while the total average of all participants who stated to be very satisfied with their university was significantly lower with only 58 per cent. Furthermore, KU graduates praised that the KU offered an excellent range of opportunities for obtaining core skills and that the KU placed great importance on establishing close links between theory and practice.
