Current news

Please note that the KU Counselling Service is closed from June 04 to June 05, 2019 and June 07 to June 23, 2019! This means that the telephone service and drop-in sessions are unavailable during these periods. If you are experiencing crisis situations of any kind, please contact the crisis contact services listed below.

Since May 2019, the office of the KU Counselling Service is in the building Marktplatz 7, room 202.

All councelling sessions and drop-in sessions are held at this address. To find us, please turn left in the building's foyer and take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. On the second floor, turn left again to reach room 202.

Please note that all changes (cancellation of appointments due to illness etc.) will from now on be communicated on this website only. Therefore, please check this page before your appointments or before attending a drop-in session to ensure that you are up to date.

In case you need to change an appointment, please contact me by phone (or leave a message on the answering machine).


  • Studying at university is sometimes a challenge. You can contact the KU's Psychological Counselling Service at any time if you are experiencing difficulties and want to talk to someone about them. The Counselling Service can help with topics such as: 

    • Difficulties in your studies and in the context of examinations
    • Stress management
    • Social anxiety
    • Problems with partners
    • Problems with parents
    • Eating disorders
    • Sexual problems
    • Questions about addiction (e.g. nicotine, alcohol, internet)
    • Loneliness, depression, guilt, anxiety, suicidal thoughts
    • Psychosomatic disorders etc.

    The Counselling Service guarantees absolute confidentiality and is bound by professional secrecy (also towards University bodies and institutions).

    The Psychological Counselling Service is funded by the Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. A small fee is charged for counselling sessions (10 euros for individual sessions, 15 euros for couples' and family sessions). Students may be exempted from paying this fee in cases of financial hardship.

    You can come to the drop-in session for an informal conversation with us in which we will determine your needs. The drop-in session is anonymous and free of charge.
