Teaching

The goal in teaching is to give students the understanding of the basic and advanced state-of-the-art concepts of Operations Reserach, such as modelling mathematical programs. Besides that, the application of theory to practice and the implementation of models is central. As applications we use current examples for the research in logistics and operations management. However, the most important thing is that students understand the methodology such that it is not restricted to one specific application but rather can be extended to different problem settings.

Therefore, we plan besides traditional lectures also other more application-driven formats.

Finally, the goal of a master thesis is to intensively work on one specific topic, such that students get prepared for either doing a PhD or work in industry. More information on final theses can be found here.
