Knowledge transfer and engagement through teaching

Knowledge transfer and engagement through teaching, achieved through research-based and practical courses held in collaboration with external partner organizations, are common practice in many disciplines at the KU, in particular business and economics, geography, journalism, education, psychology, sociology, and social work. The KU is currently developing a new program, Studium.Pro, in which students of all faculties will be able to take electives that focus on participation in social initiatives and enabling students to develop an awareness of how they can help shape our society. In addition, in the future the Student Advisory Service will offer core skills training and comprehensive advice on the transition from studying to working life.

The KU’s Center for Flight and Migration provides opportunities for refugees who are interested in studying and is currently planning additional initiatives aimed at non-traditional students. All of these measures are funded by the Catholic Church, which places great importance on personality development and knowledge transfer.
