Prof. Dr. Gabriele Gien remains President of the KU. The election committee re-elected the incumbent—who has led the KU since 2014—to a third term on May 06. The election was preceded by a public university hearing in the morning, during which Gabriele Gien presented her plans for another term to employees, students, and members of the electoral committee and took questions.

There are awards that do not lose in significance even when they are awarded repeatedly: For the KU, this is particularly true for title of "Most Popular University in Germany", which it was once again awarded in the latest ranking by the online portal Studycheck. After 2021, 2022 and 2024, this is the fourth time that the KU has taken the top spot.
