In addition to the specific requirements for professors, the general challenges of day-to-day management in the higher educational sector were also taken into account in the selection process. Literature recommendations for possible occupational fields and application techniques

Towards the end of the doctoral phase at the latest, the question of further life and career planning arises. Do I want to and can I stay in research or do I want to pursue a career outside science instead? Making this decision is not an easy step and often doctoral candidates – especially those in the humanities – are not experienced in communicating the knowledge and skills they have acquired during the doctoral phase to non-university employers.

The following literature titles are intended to provide an initial orientation as to which professional fields are suitable and attractive for doctoral graduates and how they can successfully enter these fields. The list will be continuously updated, and title suggestions are also welcome.
