Guest Lecture by Luciana Maria De Lamare on "Regeneration for Tourism: Social Entrepreneurship and the Instituto Aupaba Brazil Experience"

How can tourism actively contribute to positive change at the local level? This guest lecture offers insights into practical, regenerative approaches from Brazil.

We warmly invite all students, staff, and anyone interested at KU to join the online guest lecture by Luciana Maria De Lamare. She will speak on the topic “Regeneration in Tourism: Social Entrepreneurship and the Experience of the Instituto Aupaba in Brazil” and share her experiences and insights from projects with a transformative focus. Practical tools for regenerative regional development through social entrepreneurship will be presented, as well as the Instituto Aupaba’s approach to linking tourism, culture, education, and local communities in Brazil. Drawing on her work with Instituto Aupaba, Luciana will demonstrate how tourism can act as a driver for regenerative and socially positive development.

The lecture is part of the course “Theory and Strategy of Destination Management and Marketing”, but is open to anyone interested in innovative and sustainable approaches to tourism and regional development.
