Guest lecture “Regenerative Development (in Tourism)”

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, a guest lecture (German) will be held on the topic of regenerative development in tourism and related disciplines.

We are pleased to invite you to an interactive guest lecture by Nadine Schmidt Rojas. The expert has been living in Australia for over 13 years, teaches sustainable tourism, and has been working since 2023 with the globally renowned pioneer in the field of regenerative development in tourism, Dr. Dianne Dredge, at the Australian social enterprise The Tourism CoLab.

The lecture offers a well-founded introduction to regenerative development in tourism and its significance as an advanced approach that goes beyond classic sustainability strategies. It will show why conventional measures are no longer sufficient and explain how tourism stakeholders can benefit from net-positive effects. The focus will be on paradigm shifts, systemic thinking, and the involvement of local communities.

Specific theoretical and practical learning content covered in the guest lecture:

•    Reasons for the polycrisis and why sustainability alone is no longer enough

•    Creative and innovative implementation of regenerative approaches (in tourism)

•    Integration of regenerative principles into one's own field of action

•    Tourism as part of the solution to global challenges

The lecture is open to all interested students and employees of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt without registration. External interested parties are also welcome after registering with Kerstin Ihle (Kerstin.ihle@ku.de).

We look forward to your participation and a lively exchange at the event!
