Guest lecture by Dr. Kareem Rashwan on digital marketing

On May 18, 2026, the Chair of Tourism will welcome Dr. Kareem Rashwan for a digital guest lecture. The lecture will introduce the fundamentals of modern digital marketing and explores the latest trends shaping online brand communication and audience engagement. It covers the new concept of marketing in the digital era and provides an introduction to digital marketing, including social media marketing strategies, content marketing and audience engagement, as well as visual content marketing. In addition, the session addresses content planning and strategy development, introduces Meta marketing, and reflects on future trends in the field.

The lecture is open for anyone from KU who is interested. Registration is not required. The session will be held in English.

Dr. Kareem Rashwan is an Associate Professor and tourism development expert with over a decade of diverse experience in academia, consultancy, and public sector engagement. He has held teaching and leadership roles at prestigious institutions including King Salman International University, the French University in Egypt, and Al-Alson Institute. His work spans curriculum development, sustainable tourism, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Rashwan has contributed to USAID-funded projects, developed national tourism strategies, and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics like eco-labeling, green hotels, and leadership in tourism. He holds a PhD in Tourism from Helwan University and continues to support capacity building through training, research, and community-oriented programs.
