This volume inaugurates an interdisciplinary book series on transoceanic literary and cultural entanglements and offers readers well-grounded insights into the complex interactions between oceans and cultural practices. From literary and cultural studies perspectives, it shows how seas function as spaces of entanglement, migration, memory, climate change, and infrastructure. The contributions bring together decolonial, ecological, and epistemological approaches with perspectives on cultural transfer in order to understand oceans as multifaceted actors in global history and contemporary realities. The volume is aimed at researchers and students in literary, cultural, and environmental studies, as well as anyone interested in engaging with the world’s oceans from a transnational and postcolonial perspective.
