Further scholarship programs

On this page, we provide you with an overview of scholarship programs for which you can apply at institutions other than the KU (e.g. the DAAD).

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Bavarian higher education centers - different focus areas grouped by country or region
  • BAYCHINA - Funding for stays abroad in China
  • BAYLAT - Funding for stays abroad in Latin America
  • BAYIND - Programs and funding provided by the Bavarian-Indian Center
  • BayFrance (BFHZ) - Mobility grants for students of Bavarian or French higher education institutions who would like to complete a study stay or research internship in France or Bavaria. The respective applications deadline for the programs is April 15 for the following winter semester and November 15 for the following summer semester of each year.
  • BAYHOST Outgoing - Support for stays abroad in Central and Eastern Europe (for current projects and deadlines please see website!)
    • Research stays for students and early career researchers (maximum funding amount: € 1,000)
    • International academic projects (maximum funding amount: € 3,000)
    • Internships in Eastern Europe (lump-sum funding amount: € 450)
  • BTHA (The Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency) - The Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency offers scholarships within the framework of Bavarian-Czech cooperation in higher education for students, lecturers and researchers at state and state-supported universities and higher education institutions in Bavaria and the Czech Republic
German-American Fulbright Commission
  • The travel scholarship of the Fulbright Commission in the amount of € 2,000 is intended for students who would like to spend four to nine months of full-time studies at a university in the US.
Other scholarships
  • GFPS e.V. - The Association for Student Exchange in Central and Eastern Europe offers scholarships for language courses and study stays in Poland and the Czech Republic with participation in university projects or the teaching practice, mainly in the local language.
  • Programme d'Études en France (PEF) - The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs offers a scholarship for bachelor's degree students in their second year. Four French partner universities are available for selection: Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens), Université de Lille, Université de Nantes and Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès.

  • Mystipendium.de - International scholarships of all kinds
  • BAföG for stays abroad - due to different eligibility thresholds, many students are not entitled to BAföG for their studies in Germany, but are entitled to receive BAföG for studying abroad. It is therefore beneficial to have a look at this website!
