Short programs abroad are educational opportunities at international universities or other educational institutions designed for a shorter duration than a regular semester or academic year. Short programs offer students the opportunity to gain international experience without having to stay abroad for a long period of time. Short programs abroad are an excellent way for students to develop their intercultural skills, expand their network, and enrich their academic and professional perspectives. They can have different formats, such as:
Below you will find an overview of the various short programs. Please note that funding is not available for these programs. However, it may happen that students from partner universities receive discounts after a nomination by their home university. If this is the case, please contact the outgoing team at the International Office.
It is also important to always keep an eye on the application deadlines to ensure that you submit all necessary documents in time.
Furthermore, it is possible that you can have the achievements you make in these short programs credited to your studies at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. For more information on this topic, please contact your program coordinator directly or read the information on the website on "Academic Recognition".
Students who participate in short programs at other universities do not have to conclude a Learning Agreement. However, if you want to be sure that your achievements from abroad are recognized for your study program at the KU, it is advisable to conclude an agreement for recognition.
From the 24/25 academic year onwards, agreements on recognition will exclusively be recorded via the KU credit transfer platform. More information is available in the next tab.
An agreement for recognition is not necessary as a participant in a short program, but is recommended so that you can be sure that your achievements are credited to your study program.
If you find out at the partner university that some of your courses are not offered, you can have additional courses pre-approved in the credit transfer platform at the beginning of your stay.
Once you have completed your short program, you will usually receive your transcript of records from the host university within 8 weeks. With this document you can apply for credit transfer.
Please log in to the KU’s credit transfer platform and complete the necessary steps.
