Congratulations to Hidde Schönberger on his successful doctoral defense

On July 18, 2024, Hidde Schönberger successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "Nonlocal Gradients Within Variational Models: Existence Theories and Asymptotic Analysis." The thesis focuses on developing a comprehensive theory around new models in the calculus of variations involving nonlocal gradients, which have applications in materials science and image processing. The examination committee highly commended the excellence of his research and awarded the thesis the highest grade, summa cum laude.
