How can dominant narratives of remembrance surrounding the armed conflict in Colombia be challenged? How can we account for realities that go beyond anthropocentric perspectives on war?
This lecture shows how artistic approaches offer a fertile field for exploring the memory of mass violence by emphasizing the relational dynamics among different forms of life. Based on the analysis of three artistic creation processes that were part of the exhibition La violencia en el espacio. Mecanismos y paisajes de necropoder at the National Museum of Colombia, Ana Guglielmucci examines how these works opened up reflective and documentary spaces. In doing so, they produced new ways of approaching what war has meant for humans, plants, and animals.
The lecture will be held in Spanish.
