13. Cine Latino Eichstätt
On May 8 and from May 13 to 16, 2024, Cine Latino will enter its 13th round. Starting at the Eichstätt film studio at Residenzplatz 17, the journey will take viewers to a variety of Latin American countries and realities of life. From Brazil, it will travel to Chile and Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, and Bolivia. The hand-picked selection of contemporary feature films and documentaries will be accompanied by a supporting program, which will be realized in collaboration with numerous partners from Eichstätt, Ingolstadt, and Munich.
Highlights include the opening on May 13 with the multi-award-winning documentary LA MEMORIA INFINITA (2023, Maite Alberdi), the audience discussion on May 15 with Markus Schröder, director of SLEEPING GIANT (2023), and the theme day on domestic work in Latin America with accompanying lectures by Maria Magdalena Moser and Dr. Márton Árva on May 16.
The Latin American Film Days are an ongoing initiative of students in the BA Latin American Studies and MA Conflict, Memory, and Peace programs, in collaboration with Filmstudio Eichstätt, the Central Institute for Latin American Studies (ZILAS), and the Faculty of Languages and Literature at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. We look forward to a special cinema experience and stimulating discussions with directors, speakers, and the audience!
