Concern for the KU’s Ukrainian partner university

After the attack on Ukraine, the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) is very concerned about the situation of its local partners. “We have maintained a partnership with the Catholic University in Lviv in Western Ukraine since 1997. Only last December we were able to welcome a former student of ours, who is now Dean of the Theological Faculty in Lviv, Dr Yuriy Shchurko and his delegation to our University”, says Prof. Dr. Klaus Stüwe, Vice President for International Affairs at the KU.

He speaks for the KU Presidium and the entire University when he says: “The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt cannot remain indifferent to the disturbing news about military actions against Ukraine, which violate international law and threaten the peace throughout Europe. Our thoughts are with our colleagues from our partner university and with the 60 Ukrainian students now enrolled with us, and with their families back in their home country. Many of these students are fellows at the Collegium Orientale.” Stüwe has sent a letter of solidarity to the Management of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
