Culture and English Language in Ireland

Time: May 25 - 29, 2026

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Target Group: Teaching staff of English language and literature

Limerick, a coastal city on the River Shannon is one of Ireland’s oldest cities. Its rich cultural and literary history, along with the experiences of bilingualism in Ireland, will form a backdrop to our international staff training week focused on English language and literature, second language acquisition and Irish culture with training sessions delivered by MIC Department of English Language & Literature, MIC Department of Language & Literacy Education and invited guests from our partner universities.
As part of the week we will visit one of our local picturesque towns.
