Prof. Dr. André Habisch, Professor of Christian Social Ethics and Social Policy at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU), has been appointed as an expert to the Enquete Commission on "Growth, Prosperity, Quality of Life - Paths to Sustainable Economic Activity and Social Progress in the Social Market Economy" set up by the German Bundestag. Habisch's areas of work include the charitable, civic engagement of companies.
The Enquete Commission has been tasked with determining the significance of growth in economy and society by the fall of 2013, and with developing a holistic indicator of prosperity and progress, as well as exploring the possibilities and limits of decoupling growth, resource consumption and technological progress. The Commission comprises 17 members of the Bundestag and 17 experts.
