In the beginning of Mai, the Odysseus workshop took place in Tangier, Morocco. After several years with only virtual meetings, this was the first scientific in person workshop for most of the participants. Therefore, it was used extensively for scientific discussions and possible collaborations.

The Odysseus conference happens every three years and is one of the most important conferences in the area of operations research with applications to transportation and logistics. The scientific committee accepted three contributions for presentation from the group of Operations Management. Alexander Rave showed how drones and trucks can be combined for parcel delivery in rural areas and how this optimization problem can be solved efficiently. Stefan Voigt presented the potential of delivery profiles in last-mile delivery. Additionally, a new metaheuristic was introduced. Pirmin Fontaine showed how to select parcels and how to pack them in an e-commerce setting. For solving this complex combinatorial problem, a new exact large-scale solution method was developed.

Besides the scientific program, there was also the possibility to discover the local cuisine.
