Sampling Method in the research on achievement-related emotions and motivation

One of the key methods for collecting intensive longitudinal data is the Experience Sampling Method (ESM). It is used to capture the situational and contextual specificity and fluctuation of emotions and motivation. This book chapter introduces the method, provides an overview of recent innovations, and outlines current challenges.
