The international workshop of the INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics (TSL) Society took place this year in Seoul, South Korea. The central theme was the integration of machine learning techniques with operations research methods to address complex challenges in transportation and logistics. Leading researchers from across the globe gathered to discuss recent advancements and share research insights in this field.
At the workshop, Johannes Gückel presented a joint research project with Pirmin Fontaine. The project developed a methodology that leverages machine learning to efficiently approximate solutions for game-theoretic cost allocations – specifically Shapley values – in the context of vehicle routing problems.
