On 25 and 26 March 2026, the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá will host the conference Narradoras migrantes venezolanas. The event focuses on literary narratives by Venezuelan migrant women in Latin America and explores questions of migration, memory, gender, and language. The programme includes academic panels, project presentations, and a forum on Vaitière Alejandra Rojas’s novel Algo habla con mi voz.

The conference Narradoras migrantes venezolanas will bring together scholars and writers from different international institutions on 25 and 26 March 2026 at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. The event is devoted to literary and cultural approaches to the narratives of Venezuelan migrant women in Latin America, with particular attention to the intersections of migration, memory, gender, and language.

The programme opens with an institutional welcome by Andrés Jiménez Ángel, Laura Margarita Febres, and Miriam Lay Brander, who will also present the project “Espacio, tiempo y género en la literatura narrativa de las mujeres migrantes venezolanas en la América Latina del Siglo XXI.” This is followed by a series of thematic panels addressing expanded forms of migration writing, literary spaces between Venezuela and Brazil, voice and exile, linguistic strategies of survival, perspectives from Central and South America, and political and anthropological approaches to migrant narratives.

A central part of the programme is the forum “Conversaciones con la escritora Vaitière Alejandra Rojas sobre la novela Algo habla con mi voz,” featuring Miriam Lay Brander and Luz Marina Rivas, among others. The event concludes with a presentation on the labour-market integration of Venezuelan migrants in Medellín and a final discussion.
