Academic Exchange at the FGF Doctoral Program – Class of 2026

A doctoral researcher from the Chair of Tourism / Center for Entrepreneurship participated in the FGF Doctoral Program – Class of 2026, a multi-stage qualification program for early-career researchers in entrepreneurship, innovation, and family business. Combining a series of online workshops with a two-day on-site workshop, the program is designed to strengthen academic skills while fostering exchange among doctoral researchers across the DACH region.

The online phase, held throughout June and July, covered key aspects of academic research and publishing. Topics included developing research questions, research design, qualitative and quantitative methods, literature reviews, academic writing, and the publication and peer-review process. The sessions were delivered by renowned professors and researchers and provided numerous opportunities for discussion and interaction.

The program concluded with a two-day workshop in Bonn on 16–17 July 2026, where participants presented their dissertation projects and received detailed feedback from both faculty members and fellow doctoral researchers. The presentations and discussions offered valuable insights and new perspectives for advancing individual research projects.

Beyond the academic content, networking was a central element of the program. The in-person workshop enabled participants to connect with doctoral researchers from across the DACH region, exchange experiences, and discuss common challenges in doctoral research. The event concluded with a shared dinner, providing an informal setting to continue conversations and strengthen professional relationships.

By combining methodological training, constructive feedback, and academic networking, the FGF Doctoral Program makes an important contribution to supporting the next generation of researchers in entrepreneurship and innovation.
