Luna Wilczek studies in the Bachelor's program in Applied Musicology & Music Education at the KU.

Luna Wilczek's dream is to connect people through music. And to make classical music more accessible in times of declining classical concert culture: The student of Applied Musicology and Music Education wants to organize projects in which children, adults, and older people make music together and thus pass on their own passion for music. For Luna, music is a universal language that brings together people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders. Music is an important tool for sharing joy and communicating feelings on an accessible level.

After graduating from high school in 2019, Luna was quite disoriented: she actually wanted to start studying piano, but received negative feedback after an audition at a music college, which discouraged her greatly. She then tried out various paths and worked in the restaurant industry and at trade fairs. She also began studying English and American Studies in Erlangen, but quickly realized that it wasn't for her.

Fast forward one year: Luna discovers the Applied Musicology & Music Education program at the KU and immediately feels at home in the diverse courses and green campus in Eichstätt. For Luna, the special appeal of this program lies in working with various groups in a musical context. The KU teaches its students to create music as a safe space for people. This allows Luna to try out a variety of artistic and organizational skills during her studies and even found her own ensembles. With the support of her fellow students and the faculty, she is able to showcase her strengths and develop musically in many different directions.

Her studies have taught Luna to critically question music and to perform in front of people without fear. Above all, she now knows how to reach people through and with music. All these experiences bring the 22-year-old closer to her dream.
