Nationwide competition: WFI students score top rank in “Logistics Masters”

KU students from the WFI Ingolstadt School of Management ranked third in a nationwide competition named “Logistik-Masters”, which was carried out by the journal “VerkehrsRundschau”. According to the VerkehrsRundschau survey, the KU and its Ingolstadt School of Management was among the top 50 logistics universities in Germany once again and even ranked first in Bavaria. On a nationwide level, the Hochschule Darmstadt ranked first, followed by the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Over a period of five months, participating students had to complete five questionnaires, each containing ten questions dealing with topics such as transport, logistics and supply chain management. The results of the ten best students from each university were included in the final assessment. This year, 18 KU students from the Ingolstadt School of Management participated in the competition. In total, the competition was carried out among more than 1000 students from 70 universities, universities of applied sciences and cooperative universities. Participation of students from the Ingolstadt School of Management was organized by the student organization “LogIN” that was founded in 2007. “If you want to be successful, numerous skills are needed here: ambition, perseverance, and of course, knowledge in the relevant subject.”, said Gerhard Grünig, editor in chief at VerkehrsRundschau.

At the KU Ingolstadt School of Management, Bachelor’s and Master’s students can choose to specialize in “Supply Chain Management” and “Logistics”. Both focus areas are offered by the Department of Operations (Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kuhn). The relevant specializations convey content-related and methodological knowledge on the design and operation of production and logistics systems as well as cross-company logistics chains. A wide range of subjects from the fields of economics, operations research and computer science allows students to tailor their studies to their individual interests and skills. The theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical lectures, field trips and company visits, which are organized by the student association LogIN e.V.
