Application requirements

The scholarship is only awarded to KU students who have successfully applied for a study place in the worldwide program via ISEP.

Application process and documents

The application for ISEP is done by e-mail. Send all documents in the given order as one PDF document to isepstipendium@ku.de. Use the following subject: "Application for ISEP"

Application deadline: February 15, 2024. Applications received after this date will not be considered. The date of receipt counts.

Required documents:

  • Signed application form - DOWNLOAD
  •  Letter of motivation in English. Please explain in your letter of motivation:
    • Why you are doing a semester abroad
    • Why you are applying for this funding
    • How this funding can support your academic and professional development
    • Address the letter of motivation to the ISEP selection committee
  • Certificate of enrollment from the KU for the current semester.
  • Official Transcript of Records in English: This document lists all courses and the respective grades you have earned so far. Please apply for your Transcript of Records in English at the Examination Office in good time.

    • BA students of the DFS who have returned from Rennes: Submit both your transcript of records from the KU and your official "Relevés de Notes". The document "non certifié" will not be accepted!

    • MA students in their first semester: Submit the transcript of records of your Bachelor's program in English as well as your Bachelor's certificate.

    • MA students in higher semesters: Submit the transcript of records of your Bachelor's program in English, your Bachelor's certificate and the transcript of records of your Master's program at the KU.

  • Language certificate as specified for the respective program.
  • Signed liability disclaimer and saftey precautions.
  • Optional: Proof of voluntary work with AK International or ESN.

Combination with other sources of financing

It is not possible to combine this program with other scholarships that are explicitly awarded for a study stay abroad (e.g. by the DAAD, Erasmus+, Swiss-European Mobility Program or organizations for the promotion of young talent).

Scholarship payments

The scholarship includes a travel allowance and tuition fee compensation in the amount of

  • 1,500 EUR for students who study abroad for one semester via ISEP Exchange
  • 2,000 EUR for students who study abroad for two semesters via ISEP Exchange
