In the Master's program in Tourism and Sustainable Regional Development, students have the opportunity to participate in another international double degree program in addition to those in Slovakia and Finland. In cooperation with the renowned Università di Macerata in the Italian Marche region, students can combine academic excellence with intercultural experience and Italian lifestyle.
Participants spend the second semester of the master's program in Macerata. At the university there, they participate in exciting tourism-related courses and gain valuable insights into another culture at the same time. At the end of this study program, they receive a double degree – two recognized master's degrees that not only open up new career prospects but also promote a strong international network.
The range of courses offered at the Università di Macerata includes subjects such as Landscape and Environment Geography, Environmental Law and Tourism, as well as modules such as Creative Processes for Tourism, Educational Tourism, and Cultural Differences. The program is supplemented by practical units in form of laboratory days and day trips. The University of Macerata is one of the oldest universities in Europe and offers a close-knit, personal learning atmosphere, a beautiful campus, and a dedicated Erasmus network. Students can look forward to optimal support and a wide range of local contacts.
But it's not just the studies themselves that make a stay in Italy special. Macerata is a charming, historic university town in the heart of the Marche region – an ideal place for anyone who wants to live and learn in an authentic environment. Nestled between the Chienti and Potenza rivers, the city offers a lively cultural scene, picturesque alleys, and the famous Sferisterio, one of Italy's most impressive open-air theaters. Numerous museums, art galleries, and student events also contribute to a young, inspiring atmosphere.
