The Professorship of Physical Geography/Landscape Ecology and Sustainable Ecosystem Development primarily represents climatological and vegetational subjects in its lectures.
One central emphasis lies on the controlling factors and processes in the atmosphere. Another focus bases upon climatological natural hazards which will be of greater importance in the course of anthropogenic climate change.
Moreover, the interactions of abiotic and biotic aspects of landscape ecology are highlighted and different aspects of applied nature and landscape protection are addressed.
