Construction work in front of the Main Library: Footpath closed starting March 23

Over the coming weeks, the direct footpath between the interim building and the Main Library will be temporarily closed due to construction work. Access to the Main Library via the main entrance will remain available, a detour footpath will lead around the construction site.

Please also note that there will be frequent truck traffic in the area of the construction site.

The current work is part of the renovation measures to upgrade the ventilation and heating system in the Main Library. As part of this project, a new fresh air duct and a new intake structure will be built in the coming weeks. The groundwork for this will begin next Monday, March 23, which is why the temporary closure of the footpath to the Main Library is necessary. The disruption is expected to last approximately four weeks.

To ensure the best possible working conditions, earplugs are still available free of charge in the Main Library. Quieter workspaces can be found in our departmental libraries Ulmer Hof and Aula. You can reserve a locker (Aula) or a mobile pedestal (Ulmer Hof) for your documents. For group work, a group study room is also available on the 1st floor of the Aula Library.
