A large percentage of students at German schools today are multilingual. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge—for students and teachers alike.

The subject German as a Second Language primarily prepares prospective teachers for these linguistically heterogeneous conditions at schools.

In this context, the program provides multi-perspective knowledge of German in the context of multilingualism and migration.

You have the option of studying German as a Second Language as a teaching subject or as didactics for teaching degrees in elementary and secondary school Mittelschule. DaZ can also be studied as an extension subject for teaching degrees at secondary schools (Realschulen and Gymnasium).
