The Eichstätt City Station is accessible. Unfortunately, however, the transfer station, Eichstätt Bahnhof, is not equipped accordingly. For people who cannot use stairs, the following options are available:

  • On weekdays, additional trains run early in the morning and in the evening, providing direct service between Eichstätt Stadt and Ingolstadt Hauptbahnhof without the need to transfer. Barrier-free transfer options are available at the Ingolstadt Nord and Ingolstadt Hauptbahnhof stations.
  • Regular and on-demand buses operate between Eichstätt and Dollnstein. Dollnstein Station is accessible, though the route toward Munich involves a longer walk.
  • The X80 express bus runs between Eichstätt and the Ingolstadt Central Bus Station (ZOB). From there, the accessible Ingolstadt Nord Station is within walking distance (approximately 1 km).
  • Wheelchair-accessible taxis operate in Eichstätt (advance reservation recommended), which can take you to the nearest accessible train stations: Dollnstein, Kinding, and Ingolstadt Audi. Under certain conditions, the travel expenses for this may be covered by the district or the Office for Inclusion as part of the mobility assistance program.
