Certification of study and examination contents after completion of studies

The examination achievements required for a degree were fully documented in the issued certificate documents for all KU degree programs.

Modular studies (Bachelor/Master)

We can also certify the contents of a modular study program, which are documented in the module catalogs of the respective degree programs, after completion of the study program. You can obtain the module contents of completed modular study programs from the responsible administrator at the Examinations Office via the contact form.

Non-modularized degree programs (Diplom/Magister)

The study contents of our non-modularized degree programs can no longer be certified retrospectively, as they were not documented in module catalogs. They are contained in the respectively valid examination and study regulations. Courses were listed in the corresponding course catalogs, and the contents were announced in the courses. The various forms of confirmation issued during the course of study evidencing that components of the program were successfully completed (e.g. course record book, main seminar certificates, evidence of field trips and internships) were only required for admission to the intermediate or final examination of the corresponding degree program. They were not taken into account in the calculation of the overall grade of the central final examination and were therefore not archived at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

A transcript of records, as is usually issued for modular studies, cannot be issued retrospectively for this degree program as no credits were awarded for individual courses and examinations as is the case in modular programs.

Classification of KU degrees in the German higher education system

An overview of the higher education degrees that can be earned in Germany, their formal aspects and their allocation to the respective qualification levels (Bachelor, Master or doctorate level) is provided by the Qualifications Framework for German Higher Education Degrees (handbook on the framework also available in English translation here), which was developed in cooperation between the German Rectors' Conference, the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and was first adopted by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany on April 21, 2005 (latest version dated February 16, 2017).
