Proof of language proficiency

When applying for a semester abroad, a Master's degree program, an internship, etc., proof of a specific language proficiency level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is often required. If you have successfully completed the required language modules at the KU, the Language Center will issue a certificate confirming your proficiency level. Please follow these steps:

  1. Use the contact form to request a current, preliminary Transcript of Records from the Examinations Office, specifying your degree program and selecting the category “Overview of Grades.” Ensure that all relevant language modules are fully recorded in your overview of grades.
  2. Submit this documentation to the Language Center to obtain a language proficiency certificate.
  3. The Language Center will review your academic achievements and issue the corresponding level confirmation for you.
