Accident insurance

Students are covered by statutory accident insurance for all study-related activities that are directly connected, in terms of time and location, to the University and its facilities. Insurance coverage also applies during travel to and from the location of the activity, provided such travel is related to the insured activity.

If medical assistance is required following an accident—even if the situation worsens after what was initially thought to be a minor injury (as recorded in the first-aid log)—you must always consult an accident insurance physician (except in acute emergencies)!

A list of authorized accident insurance physicians in Germany can be found on the DGUV website at: https://diva-online.dguv.de/diva-online/

Here you can find the nearest accident insurance physicians by entering the location and a radius. The “Map View” and “Show Selection” functions at the bottom of the page are also useful. After checking the box on the far right of the results table, the selected results are displayed on a Google Maps map, or the addresses and additional information are listed in a table.

In Eichstätt, Dr. Hudde’s practice at Sollnau 32 and the emergency clinic at Eichstätt University Hospital, headed by Prof. Dr. Gregor Voggenreiter, are authorized “accident-reporting physicians’ practices.”

The student must report the accident to the Student Office by submitting the completed accident report and, if applicable, the commuting accident questionnaire via the contact form under the category “Accident Report.”
