High school – graduating from high school – university, perhaps with a gap year in between: For the majority of students in Germany, this is the typical path to a career. But around 500,000 students in Germany — and over 730 at the KU alone — are already over 30 and have chosen a different path — or life has simply gotten in the way. We met with three of these KU students aged 30+ and asked them about their intrinsic motivation, about what their goals are, and how these might be different from those of their younger fellow students.
