Teaching Latin

KU Scouts

Our KU Scouts are studying exactly what interests you – and provide you with honest insights straight from their everyday uni life.

My journey took me from Asterix to Cicero – and thus right into the world of antiquity. At the KU, I can deepen my passion for ancient texts, languages, and cultures; critically examine how they shape our present; and, through educational psychology, understand how young people learn and think today.

Teaching Latin

In the teaching degree program for Latin, students study the language and literature of antiquity, as well as its history, culture, and society. At the same time, they develop teaching skills that will enable them to vividly convey the Latin language and the world of antiquity to their future students.

Admission & application

This degree program has no admission restriction—you do not need to apply. Simply enroll directly through the KU university portal in August or September. If you earned your university entrance qualification abroad, please also submit your preliminary examination documentation by July 15—also through the same portal.

Campus Eichstätt

Eichstätt combines a Baroque old town with canoe trips on the Altmühl River, open-air movies in the summer, and festivals such as the Altstadtfest and the Lichternacht—here, everyday student life meets a genuine zest for life.

Accommodation and living

Finding a place to live is part of planning for uni – whether it’s a dorm, a shared apartment, or your own apartment. Anyone coming to Eichstätt or Ingolstadt to attend uni should start looking for housing early.
