Kilian Vief studies in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree program.

Kilian Vief strives to understand society. That is why he enjoys acquiring a comprehensive interdisciplinary education in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree program at the KU. For him, both professional competence and interpersonal skills are of great importance, as they enable him to communicate effectively and empathetically. Due to his particular passion for working with people and his focus on inclusion, he is involved as the leader of various theater groups – at the KU improv theater, a group in his hometown of Neuburg, and a municipal inclusive youth theater group in Eichstätt.

Kilian's grandmother, whom he cared for and looked after, had a strong influence on him: “I am very impressed by her serenity and contentment.” She inspired in him the desire to have a positive influence on those around him and encouraged him to do what he enjoys. This helped him greatly in his search for the right degree program.

Finding a suitable degree program was a big challenge for Kilian because he was very interested in many programs and couldn't decide between them. Finally, he discovered the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's program at the KU, that allowed him to combine different subjects. Kilian ultimately chose classical archaeology, philosophy, and theater education. Classical archaeology fascinates him because it deals with places where people have lived and left their mark. Studying philosophy trains communication, discussion, and argumentation skills and provides insight into human thought and a variety of topics that are so important to people. Thanks to the "Studium individuale" component that is integrated into the program, Kilian can also choose modules from the entire range of Bachelor's programs offered by the KU, which are not subject to admission restrictions. For example, he can study sociology, musicology, languages, history, or art history.

The interdisciplinary program at the KU allows Kilian to freely design his own educational path. He studies a variety of different subjects, which brings him into contact with different people. These experiences enable him to learn a wide range of subjects and prepare him for a diverse working environment.
