WFI Freshers' Welcome, pre-courses and student organization introductions

Welcome to WFI, Ingolstadt School of Management. We look forward to welcoming you soon on our campus in Ingolstadt!

 

Check-IN @ WFI

To make your start as smooth as possible, beginning in October you will be divided into small, course-specific groups, each of which will be supervised by a mentor. For the next two months, your mentor will be your first point of contact and ensure that you settle into university life.

Contents can be:

  •    Working out your schedule together (for Bachelor's students).
  •    Short campus tour to the lecture halls of the 1st semester
  •    Introduction to the library
  •    If applicable, introduction to the examination regulations
  •    Information on the semester abroad
  •    Information on the exams

At the end of Check-IN, a joint Christmas party with one of our student organizations is planned.

First semester @ WFI

General introductory event for International full time students

We look forward to welcoming you in person on 14th of October at 10:15 a.m. in room NB-101 at our campus in Ingolstadt. This specific Welcome Event is for international full-time students.

Before the start of the Welcome Event the Library offers a tour in English. It will start on 14th of October at 9:30 am and you can meet the team in the Lobby.

After the general introduction for students of all degree programs, we come together in the orchard for a get-together and the WFI bags are distributed.

The SV and the student organizations of the WFI have planned some events for the start of the semester. Take advantage of the opportunities to network and get to know student life. You can find more detailed information on registration or location on the Instagram channels of the SV and the organizers. There is also a flyer with all the offers under student events!

Introductory events to specific study programs

Business and Psychology

The welcome event for the Business & Psychology degree program will take place on October 14 at 2 p.m. in room NB-301.

BA&OR

The BA&OR welcome event for first-semester students will take the form of a get-together on October 14 at 6 p.m. in room NB-207. Interested students can exchange ideas with BA&OR students from all semesters and get in touch with Prof. Kuhn, Prof. Setzer, and Prof. Fontaine. Please send any questions to baor@ku.de

Business Administration International – Double degree program with Toulouse Business School (TBS)

We look forward to welcoming all new students of the double-degree Master's program in International Business Administration (TBS) to the WFI on October 15 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in room HB-111. During the information event, we will explain the curriculum in detail and provide further information about your stay at TBS.

Taxation

On October 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., new students of the Taxation degree program will be welcomed in person by the degree program coordinators Prof. Koch and Prof. Langenmayr. The room will be announced in due time.

D3B welcome event for first-semester students

The D3B welcome event will take the form of a get-together on October 14 at 4:30 p.m. in room NB-107. Interested students will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with D3B students from all semesters and get in touch with the program coordinators and lecturers.

Sustainability in Business & Economics

In addition to the welcome event for first-semester students on October 14, there will be a welcome event for the degree program Sustainability in Business & Economics on October 13 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room NB-307.

Placement test for business languages

The 60-minute placement tests for business languages (Bachelor's program in Business Administration/SBE/D3B) will take place on October 15: Business English begins at 9 a.m. in GH and Business French at 10 a.m. in NB 201.

After the test, you will be assigned to language courses based on your performance. There will be no grading, and no special preparation is necessary.

One business language is mandatory for the Bachelor's program, but you may take more than one business language.

The business language courses start on Monday, October 20.

Information provided by the Library

Course registration for Master's students

Registration for innovative courses will take place on 22nd of September at 6 p.m. This mainly concerns courses with participation restrictions in the Master and in advanced Bachelor semesters. For this, please register as described in the guide "ErsteSchritte_Kursanmeldung_eng". To find out which courses have attendance restrictions, please check your study plan (required courses never have restrictions) and the module catalog: https://www.ku.de/wfi/infos-fuer-studierende.

There are courses in KU.Campus saying "Internet registration not allowed", in which case you can check the course participation requirements on the department homepage: https://www.ku.de/wfi/lehrstuehle-und-professuren.

Registering for the course does not constitute an obligation to participate, but you will block courses that other fellow students may wish to take. Therefore, please register only for courses that you really want to take, and unregister from other courses. You can register for courses without attendance restrictions at any time up to the beginning of the lecture period.

Pre-course mathematics

A math pre-course for Master's students will take place from 6th of October to 10th of October from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in room HB-112. Registration is possible by e-mail to wfi-mathekursanmeldung(at)ku.de Keyword: BA&OR - Mathe-Vorkurs. This course is open for all Master students.

A math pre-course for Bachelor's students will take place from 7th of  October to 11th of October from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 12.15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is possible by e-mail to: wfi-mathekursanmeldung(at)ku.de Keyword: Bachelor - Maths pre-course. All new Bachelor students of all specialisations are welcome to take part!
