On 20 and 21 November 2025, a conference on the topic of ‘Annette Kolb's Networks’ ("Annette Kolbs Netzwerke") took place in Munich.

arrow right iconFrom the programme: ‘The life and work of Annette Kolb (1870-1967) are exemplary of the intellectual positions of her time. Her work remains highly relevant today, even though it has received comparatively little attention. The symposium ’Annette Kolb's Networks' aims to bring the author back into the spotlight.

Throughout her life, Annette Kolb emphasised a European perspective, took a firm stand against militarism as a pacifist, opposed National Socialism from exile, and returned from exile in New York after 1945, first to Paris and later to Munich. In this respect, the life and work of this European ‘femme de lettres’ (Sigrid Bauschinger) offer sufficient connections to current questions in literary and cultural studies.

More information about the programme and the participants of the symposium can be found in the flyer.
