The German Studies Student Body is a group of students from the department who organise activities and events for interested students outside of the lecture halls and seminar rooms. They also serve as a point of contact for all questions and issues related to studying German.

Our theatre trips, for example, have already become something of a tradition, with previous visits to productions in Munich, Nuremberg and Ingolstadt. These trips are an inexpensive and convenient way for all KU students to sit once again in front of the boards that mean the world.
Our film evenings and monthly get-togethers are also becoming increasingly popular. However, our activities are not limited to purely ‘German studies’: for example, together with the history department, we have already organised several very well-received open-air cinema events in the university courtyard.

Supporting first-year students is also very important to us. At the beginning of the winter semester, we strive to make the transition to student life as easy as possible for new students by offering introductions to the various online platforms, regular get-togethers and city tours.
