The article "Human solution strategies for the vehicle routing problem: Experimental findings and a choice-based theory" has been accepted for publication in the journal "Computers & Operations Research"
In a laboratory experiment, we analyzed the how humans solve vehicle routing problems. Together with Florian Taube and Stefan Minner, we identified, for example, that particularly clustering makes vehicle routing problems more difficult to solve and that the performance is on average between the performance of classical vehicle routing heuristics.
