Thomas Hagsphil (PhD candidate TU Munich) receives Anna Valicek Award

At this year’s AGIFORS conference, Thomas Hagsphil, PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich, receives the first price at the Anna Valicek Award competition. The Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (AGIFORS) awards every year a price to the best student paper in operations research with application to the airport industry.

The submitted paper develops an efficient method for apron layout planning and optimal positioning of aircraft stands. The paper was written by Thomas Hagsphil (TU Munich), Prof. Rainer Kolisch (TU Munich), Prof. Sebastian Schiffels (University of Augsburg) und Prof. Pirmin Fontaine and is currently under review.
