Course content: The Studium.Pro module is a comprehensive overview of modern data science methods that are currently used in various disciplines (e.g., journalism, mathematics, psychology, linguistics, economics) to analyze large amounts of data.
The professors conducting the course come from the various disciplines and present different methods depending on their expertise. The aim is for all students to gain an understanding of how various data science methods work and to be able to apply some of them themselves with the help of programming training. Among other things, the course refers to different types of data (e.g., economic-quantitative data, text data, behavioral data, eye-tracking data), their modeling and goals of data analysis.
Course format: The course consists of lectures on the various data science methods in different disciplines and an associated exercise in which participants learn a programming language in order to apply the methods. The exam in this course is a written exam (100% of the final grade) covering both the lectures and the exercises.
