The chair offers Master’s courses such as The Psychology of Sustainable Luxury Consumption, Psychological Approaches to Behavior Change for Social Good, and Food Technology Acceptance: A Psychological Perspective. The aim of these courses is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the psychological aspects of consumer behavior and sustainable development.

The chair's research emphasizes the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and responsible consumption, particularly in the digital realm. A central area of research is investigating how companies can utilize technology to promote sustainable consumption and establish themselves as socially responsible actors in a competitive marketplace. Welcome to the Winter Semester 2026/27

The Chair of Business Administration and Psychology warmly welcomes all students to the winter semester 2026/27. Over the coming months, we will be offering four courses across the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, ranging from market psychology and social marketing to thesis preparation.

A new semester brings new faces, new questions and plenty of exciting topics. Here is an overview of the courses we will be offering.

Market Psychology and Strategic Marketing Communication

The course Market Psychology and Strategic Marketing Communication is aimed at students in the MSc Business & Psychology and will introduce the core theories of market psychology and strategic marketing communication. Students will learn how to critically evaluate communication strategies, compare them across cultural perspectives and design campaigns of their own. Prof. Dr. Victoria-Sophie Osburg will give the lecture. The accompanying seminar will be led by Farah Hentati and Andreas Heim, where students will put theory into practice.

Social Marketing

For Bachelor’s students, Prof. Dr. Victoria-Sophie Osburg will teach Social Marketing. Students will learn what makes social marketing distinct from other types of marketing and how to assess campaigns through a theoretical lens. They will then design and run a small social marketing campaign of their own and critically reflect on the outcome.

Empirical Research in Business and Psychology

This course will prepare Master’s students for writing their thesis. Students will learn how to identify relevant research questions, conduct a literature review and develop a suitable study design.

Business & Psychology Joint Seminar

In this interdisciplinary seminar, students will explore how business and psychology perspectives can be combined to address relevant research questions. Working in interdisciplinary teams, they will develop a research topic, engage with the scientific literature and design an empirical study.

We are looking forward to an inspiring semester and to many good conversations with you.
