Welcome to the Chair of Dogmatics

What is dogmatics? Dogmatics is one of the systematic disciplines within academic theology. While areas of theology that are centered around history focus mainly on what the historical Christian message maintains, systematic theology is primarily concerned with the truth of this assertion. Dogmatics uses specific methods to examine the question of how the Christian message can be understood and accepted. The discipline is therefore not only tasked with systematically collecting and studying the teachings of the Church, interpreting them appropriately, and explaining them in such a way as to enable them to be understood today; it is also responsible for reflecting on and articulating the word of faith (Romans 10:8) testified in the Bible that has its place in the proclamation of the Church, in prayer, and in witness before the world as the word of God’s revelation of himself.
